Creating your own dream garden can be difficult for those of us who don’t have access to an outdoor space. However, VR Gardens wants to give everyone who may be living in small urban spaces a few useful indoor gardening ideas to help inject some greenery into your living area.
- Modern Wall Gardens
Steel Mesh Frames
Lana Red Studio teaches us how to make the most of our wall space by creating a stylish, minimalistic steel wall hanger. Customise your own hanger by mixing and matching your favourite indoor greens with your own pots and baskets.
With Herbster planting tubes it is possible to grow plants in a limited space both indoors and outdoors. The handy thing about these gadgets is that you can join up several tubes, making your garden as big or as small as you want.
2. Mini Glasshouses
At home glass terrariums are definitely one of the top trends for interior design this year. You can create beautiful designs in these artistic glass chambers using sand, stones, succulents and much more.
If you want to try this indoor gardening idea out for yourself, Gardens Illustrated can take you through a step-by-step guide.
3. Tea Cup Gardens
Butterbin has some great indoor gardening hacks but the one we thought was the cutest were these tea cup herb plantings.
4. Optimised Kits, Cultivators and and Accessories for Indoors
We were delighted to see IKEA bringing out a range of specialised indoor gardening products. The VR Gardens top pick was the Växer Grow Kit complete with its own LED cultivation light, nursery and sprout box, fertliser, wool starter plugs, and pumice stones.
5. Air Plants
Air plants are both a beautiful and soil free solutions to growing plants indoors. All you need to do to keep these little guys green and healthy is make sure you give them plenty of access to air, place them in indirect light and soak them in a bath of water every 1-3 weeks depending on the weather. Perfect for some of us more forgetful gardeners.
Hopefully some of these indoor gardening ideas will inspire you to breathe a breath of fresh air into your home or working space. Let us know in the comments if you have any indoor gardening hacks, we’d love to find out more ways we could spruce up the VR Gardens office.
